Carleton Selects Optiwave for Cutting Edge Research

OTTAWA , ONTARIO --- Optiwave Systems Inc., the leading provider of innovative software design tools for photonics, today has announced its optical simulation software tools have been selected for use at Carleton University 's new Laboratory for Laser Induced Photonic Structures (CLLIPS).

Dr. Jacques Albert, Canada Research Chair in Advanced Photonic Components, and director of CLLIPS, has selected Optiwave design tools to meet his ground-breaking research needs. "After a rigorous review process, Optiwave emerged as the clear choice for the photonics research work we are doing here at Carleton University ," noted Dr. Albert. "The CLLIPS lab was opened at the beginning of December and is anticipating world-class research results, thanks to partnerships such as this."

Optiwave tools will be used to investigate novel power monitors in complex planar lightwave circuits.
